Our 5 speakers represent different perspectives of the industry as customers, consultants, and Oracle product management.

Whether you're on the database or development side, you'll want to tune in. We will bring up 5 important new features of Oracle Database 23c that our panel has selected to present to you! You'll hear from our Oracle ACE panel experts, Rich Niemiec, Charles Kim, and Troy Ligon, who will be joined by our special guests from Oracle: Maria Colgan and ​Sean Stacey.

Maria Colgan, Distinguished Product Manager at Oracle Corporation.  Also known as SQLMaria, she has been a part of Oracle since version 7.3 was released in 1996, and advocates for Oracle Database, as well as best practices for incorporating the database into company environments. Maria has spent her entire career deeply involved with enhancing the performance of databases and applications, most notably SQL query tuning. Follow her blog at https://www.sqlmaria.com/ 

Sean Stacey, is a Director of Product Management in Oracle's Server Technologies organization. Sean joined Oracle in 1997, and during his time with Oracle has focused much of his time supporting Oracle's partner community with programs focused on Oracle Database adoption. Most recently Sean has been working with Oracle customers and partners to help them move to Oracle Database 19c and the Autonomous Database.

Sean's expertise in the Oracle database is both theoretical as well as hands-on. He frequently provides technical advisory services and education to Oracle customers and partners to ensure they are getting the most benefits from their Oracle technology investment. In addition to these program activities, he has authored several white papers and frequently speaks at Oracle user conferences.

Prior to joining Oracle, Sean was a software developer and then an Oracle Database Administrator in Australia, the United Kingdom as well as the United States. He currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Charles Kim, Charles Kim is an Oracle ACE Director, VMware Expert, an Oracle Certified DBA, a Certified Exadata Specialist, and a Certified Oracle Linux, Oracle Cloud,  and RAC Expert. Charles was selected into the Oracle ACE Program on May 2008 and became an Oracle ACE Director as of December 2009. Charles has been an Oracle ACE Director every year since 2009. Charles became a VMware vExpert in the class of 2013.  Charles is a co-founder and CEO of Viscosity North America. Follow his blog at https://www.dbaexpert.com/

Rich Niemiec, Rich Niemiec is the current Chief Innovation Officer of Viscosity North America. Rich is an Oracle Ace Director, a world-renowned IT Expert, and was a co-founder and the CEO of TUSC, a Chicago-based systems integrator of Oracle-based business solutions started in 1988.  Rich is the past President of the International Oracle Users Group (IOUG) and the current President of the Midwest Oracle Users Group (MOUG). Rich has architected and tuned many Fortune 500 systems over the past 25 years.

Troy Ligon, Troy Ligon is an Oracle ACE and a regular speaker at conferences across the country. Troy is President of the Suncoast Oracle Users Group in Tampa, FL and serves on the Quest IOUG Advisory Board of Directors.  With over 35 years’ IT experience, Troy has held senior roles at American Express, CitiBank, IBM, and other Fortune 100 firms. Troy is currently Director of Enterprise Architecture for InComm Payments, a global financial services firm managing annual volumes over $50billion across 43 countries.
