Senior Oracle DBA Consultant
We are a fast-growing specialized IT consulting company formed by former Oracle employees of high integrity. Viscosity is an Oracle Gold Partner and one of the up and coming providers of complex Oracle Technology consulting services. We are experiencing strategic growth and seeking top Oracle talent to join our team.
Our growth has been fantastic and we’re looking to add a Senior Oracle DBA to our team immediately, working full-time W2 Salary or contract-to-hire. We are based in Dallas Texas.

Requirements and Job Description
- Provide DBA services to multiple clients in a staff augmentation / managed services arrangement
- A demonstrable commitment to a professional career in database management
- Outstanding college-level oral and written communications skills
- Install and support 11gR2 RAC configuration
- Provide support on all the stages of database implementation and/or database related deployments
- Participate in project meetings, as necessary, to understand application and database requirements
- Ability to work independently and to resolve complex Oracle issues
- Run diagnostic tools to identify database performance bottlenecks, and take appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance. Work with development teams to tune SQL queries.
- Oracle Database Tuning and Performance – usage of statspack, AWR, ADDM, ASH and UNIX native commands
- Proactive monitoring of the databases
- Manage backup/recovery for Oracle instances
- Management of database and resource capacity planning.
- Oracle DataGuard Physical Standby configuration, build and support
- Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control for environment standardization
- Previous consulting experience required.
Senior Oracle RAC DBA Consultant
Join us in our early stage of our growth as a Senior Consultant. We only hire ‘A’ players and are prepared to pay for this level of professional. Salary based upon experience, quarterly bonus based upon utilization rate and annual bonus based upon company profitability. - Must have installed, upgraded and managed a 11g RAC system. 11gR2 experience a big plus.
- Only strong Linux and Unix skills will be considered
- Oracle Certified Professional OCP (any release)
- Must have strong Data Guard experience. GoldenGate a big plus
- Must have experience in 11g performance and tuning
- Good scripting language (ksh, perl)

Senior Linux Administrator

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure RHEL Linux, VMWare and Oracle DB 11gR2
- Build and test Linux based hardware and software infrastructure components
- Build and test VMWare based environment for Oracle 11gR2
- Document all policies, procedures and standards around the build and continuing operation of Linux / VMWare systems
- Experience in setting up application and Oracle database environment, assist application and infrastructure team in verifying application and Oracle database environment, troubleshoot application and Oracle database problems as and when application encounter problem
- Participate in project meetings, as necessary, to understand application and database requirements
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience supporting a large production Linux / Oracle database environment
- Must have installed, upgraded and managed an 11g system on Linux. 11gR2 experience a big plus
- Experience working with VMware for 2 plus years
- Ability to work independently and to resolve complex Linux and VMWare issues
- RedHat Linux System administration including network and SAN configuration
- EMC SAN storage and Cisco (UCS) architecture knowledge a plus

Senior Virtualization Consultant
As a Virtualization Sr. Consultant, you will provide customers technical leadership in the design, installation, configuration, and implementation of virtualization (VMware or Oracle Virtual Machine) products and services. You will help to develop deployment best practices for VMware and Oracle VM solutions, as well as present these best practices to customers and partners. Other responsibilities include service delivery of (but not limited to) Operational Readiness, Business Continuance, Disaster Recovery, and Storage, and IT services Delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Independently conduct enterprise engagements with customers
- Maintain current knowledge of the entire VMware and Oracle VM product line
- Conduct pre-packaged consulting solutions in a timely and effective manner
- Assist in the development of standard reusable “productized” consulting service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates
- Help document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including customer-facing experience with Federal customers
- Strong technical knowledge of VMware products: vSphere 4/5 and SRM (Site Recovery Manager) and Oracle VM
- Experience with current software development methodologies, with emphasis on software and hardware architecture, and infrastructure design and development
- 3+ years experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning
- Understanding of storage architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
