Cloud Experience Workshop with 12.2 New Features

A workshop for Oracle Technology Professionals to obtain Cloud experience using Oracle Public Cloud and Oracle Technology on-premise together using their own laptop/device to accomplish work essential for their businesses & careers.

Attendees learn how to setup OS secure authentication, generate a key, create a storage container to use the Cloud, methods of backup to the Cloud, configuring RMAN to backup to Oracle Cloud and recover back to an on-premise server. Work with an Oracle 12c Database in the Oracle Cloud and more. Learn when and how to use Cloud for business projects. Attendees to this workshop bring their own device, connect over WiFi, are assigned an Oracle Cloud account and are lead through activities by Oracle Ace Director, Charles Kim.

Objective 1: Become Cloud confident and experienced. Learn best practices that span on-premise Oracle infrastructure, Private and Public Cloud. Then add Cloud as a skill to your resume

Objective 2: How and when to use or migrate databases or workloads to the Oracle Cloud with technologies like RMAN, Data Pump, Pluggable Database (PDB), Snapshot clones, and data replication technologies like GoldenGate. Understand what is available, which to use and

Objective 3: How to start taking advantage of the latest releases of Oracle technology from the Oracle Cloud to accomplish more in your workday, for your business, and with less effort.

Charles Kim will also focus on these main 12c topics:

  • Oracle Database 12c Release 1 and 2 New Features
  • Upgrade to 12.2
  • Integration and migration strategies to the latest Oracle hardware platform and/or to Oracle Cloud
  • Upgrading to Oracle Database 12c Release 2 in-place and out-of-place
